Group Support Information

You can find understanding for your loss in one of our peer support groups, facilitated by trained WinterSpring volunteers.  We create a safe and confidential environment for sharing, learning, and healing through grief.  Read a short article about the group experience here.

COST: Our eight-week adult groups cost $80. No one turned away for lack of funds. Please ask up about our scholarships.  Children and teen support groups are free.

Late Spring 2017 Adult Groups

Spouse & Partner Loss – Losing a spouse or life partner is complicated by financial challenges, social challenges, and loss of identity.
An eight-week series will be starting Monday, May 15, 2017. 6:30 – 8pm.
Medford location. Pre-registration is required.
There are still two spaces left in this group as of 4.26.17.

Bereaved Parents (Loss of Child of Any Age) This group is for people grieving the death of a child of any age. It is enormously helpful to be with other parents experiencing such a devastating loss, not only to be supported but to have the chance to offer support too. Participants have described this group as a lifesaver. Please call 541-552-0620 if you’re interested in finding out more about the next group and to find out about other Bereaved Parent resources.
Our latest Bereaved Parent recently came to a close. Another group series will be offered in the fall, dates TBA late summer.

Suicide Loss — This group is for adults grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.  Call for an intake and additional information and resources for suicide loss survivors.
Our Suicide Loss bereavement support groups are done for the season and will begin again in the fall. Dates TBA late summer/early fall.

Cumulative Loss — When grief from many losses has built up over time…
A weekly series of education, support and connection.
Our current Cumulative Loss group is now closed to new members.

Men’s Grief — This year we added a Men’s Grief group to the mix. Men and women tend to grief differently and this group is a chance for men to find support and understanding with other men who are also grieving.
Our current Men’s Grief group is now closed to new members. We do plan to offer another group series in the fall. Pre-registration is required. Call 541-552-0620.

Future Groups
Summer 2017:  We do plan to offer a General Bereavement/Mixed Loss six- or eight-week group series this summer in Ashland. This group will start in the latter half of July and run through August and possibly the beginning of September 2017. Dates and times TBA./

Holiday Grief Group — Because grieving can be especially difficult during the holidays.
Winter 2016/2017 series is now completed. Winter 2017/2018 dates TBA.
Next holiday season we will offer this group again.
This will be a six or eight week group.

Children’s Program — Our Children’s Program is for kids ages 6 to 12 who have experienced a death in their lives, whether it is a grandparent, parent, sibling, relative or friend.  We create a safe place for children to express their feelings through playing, making art, sharing and listening.  Our approach to helping children through loss and grief promotes healing, understanding among peers, and active remembrance and commemoration of their loved ones.

Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:30pm                                                                                                   Begins again in Fall 2015, Medford location

Teen Programs — Our school-based teen support groups are offered on-site at various middle and high schools in Jackson County. They are facilitated by WinterSpring volunteers and school personnel and typically run six to eight weeks. Groups are coordinated on a case by case basis according to volunteer availability and the requests of individual schools.  If you have a teen who would benefit from our groups, please call us at 541-552-0620.  Also call the school’s principal, counselor, or nurse, so that the school knows there is a demand.
